Using leaf litter helps to create a natural appearance that is desirable in creating both small and large terrariums & vivariums. Leaf litter also helps to recreate the natural habitat of many species including dart frogs which use the leaf litter for hiding and hunting. As the leaves decompose it creates a source of food for springtails and isopods while enriching the substrate for healthier plants.
